At a small party, Beryl views both Mewi and Ficelle's growth with satisfaction. And then an unexpected disturbance rocks the Magic Institute.

Able to fight even without magic, Beryl and Ficelle force their way into the school in an effort to uncover the cause of the strange happenings. When shadow wolves appear in the cafeteria, Mewi and her classmates decide to confront them, despite their inexperience. Two battles unfold - so how will they end?
EP 04The Old Country Bumpkin Returns HomeA letter addressed to Beryl arrives from Beaden. Sent by his father Mordea, it urges him to return to the village for an annual event unique to the village. With the Magic Institute on summer break, Beryl invites Mewi to accompany him and Henblitz. Then Curuni invites herself along. It's the first time Beryl's been home since his move to the city. The next day, an unexpected confrontation occurs.
EP 05The Old Country Bumpkin Lets Out a RoarTheir mission to take down the saberboar begins. Curuni achieves her long-cherished goal of taking one down and realizes how much stronger she has become. Randrid makes full use of the skills he honed as an adventurer and puts his swordsmanship to good use. Impressed, Henblitz challenges him to a sparring match - which ignites something in the hearts of both Beryl and another swordsman.

The friendship between Henblitz and Randrid grows, while Adel and Edel fuss over Mewi. Beryl watches it all and reflects on his own feelings over the years. EP 07The Old Country Bumpkin Gets an Invitation from NobilityA banquet is being held in the lands of the Margrave of Flumvelk, a region bordering Sphenedyardvania, and both Allucia and Beryl have been invited. The visit is also a chance to confirm the route the soon-to-be-wed Princess Salacia will take to her new home. Along the way, Beryl gives advice to a young knight.
